Sportswomen Miesha Tate

 

Miesha Theresa Tate, born on August 18, 1986, is an American mixed martial artist. Tate is currently competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) which she was the previous UFC Women's Bantamweight champion. Tate previously competed in Strikeforce in which she was a Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion. Tate was also vice president of ONE Championship. She currently ranks 10 in the UFC women’s bantamweight rankings as at October 3, 2022.



 



 Childhood and early life



 Tate was the daughter of Michelle Tate and Robert Schmidt. Tate was born in Tacoma, Washington. As a child Tate often played with her fellow boys from her community on playgrounds.

  Abromeit was a highly-ranked athlete when she was sixteen years old, was awarded the scholarship of Duke University in Durham (North Carolina) in North Carolina, for her sixth-place finish in junior tennis in the United States. After graduating from Duke University, Abromeit fell in love both with music and acting, so she chose to pursue a career in the area.
